“Globalization of foreign economic processes through the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and renewal of river navigation”
The project of the transport and logistics corridor through the “Water Gates of Ukraine” was presented.

Volodymyr Dvornik: reminded that during the recent meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and Belarus, the issue of the necessity and prospect of increasing trade between the countries by waterways was discussed. As part of the implementation of the agreements in the Gomel Region, a port construction project in the village of Nizhni Zhary, Gomel Region, has begun. It will become a transport hub and connect Ukraine, Belarus and European countries due to the deepening of the Pripyat and the Dnipro rivers.
Volodymyr Chekhlov, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Odessa, the representative of the profile Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Advisor to the Minister Yuriy Gusev supported the idea of the creation of «transport corridor».
The general director of “Nibulon” LLC Oleksiy Vadatursky outlined the possibility of creating a powerful transport hub of Ukraine due to the development of transport logistics. He presented the company’s strategy for dredging works in the waterway of the navigable route E-40 that increase river transport on the Baltic Sea – Gdansk – Dnipro – Black Sea, as well as introduction of container transportations and transportation of bulk cargoes along the Dnipro River to the Republic of Belarus (potentially and turnover to 25 million tons per year). Oleksiy Opanasovych also informed the participants about the company’s intentions regarding the possibility of building a harbor port in the Kherson region.
Sergiy Rybachok director of LLC «Amalteya» presented project devoted to the proposal of the creation of a dry port and a potash fertilizer plant based on the former JSC Kherson Cotton Factory, which will be included in the concept of the creation of the Black Sea-Baltic transport logistics corridor. That will connect cargo flows from Iran and other countries of the Middle East with Ukraine and Europe.
Mr. Abbas Hashemi, the head of the Ukrainian-Arab business council, expressed intentions for idea support by the Iranian partners.
Prospects for the Development of Electricity Production in Ukraine at the expense of Renewable Sources”
Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Public Union “Ukrainian Wind Energy Association”, was moderator of the panel discussion.
During the panel discussion was discussed the energy strategy of Ukraine approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Strategy provides 25% of the development of renewable energy sources by 2035. Deputy Directorate of the Ministry Ms. Natalia Boyko gave detailed explanation of the further implementation of the strategy.
The head of State Agency of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhiy Savchuk stressed that the Government today creates stimulating conditions for investment in the field of renewable energy.
Chairman of the Board of JSB “UKRGASBANK” Kyrylo Shevchenko noted that bank, within the framework of a memorandum, concluded with the Kherson Regional State Administration in 2016, during the 2016-2017 year invested 1 billion 200 million hryvnas in the “ecological projects” of the Kherson region (2 projects). For the further perspective, in Kherson region for investing 13 more projects are considered.
Within the framework of the panel discussion, the main tendencies in attracting investment resources in the development of the renewable energy sector in Ukraine were discussed. The project was presented and solemnly opened in the framework of the Forum, namely the construction of the Novotroitskaya wind power plant (first phase 15 MW, total power – 140 MW).
In general, the project envisages the implementation in the near future a number of projects for the construction of wind farms, namely:
– “Oreanivska” WPS with the capacity of 69.3 MW in the territory of Novotroitsky and Genichesk regions;
– “Novotroitska” WPS with a capacity of 69.3 MW in Novotroitsky region;
– “Kalanchatska” WPS with the capacity of 300 MW in Kalanchatsky region;
– “Chaplinska” WPS capacity of 300 MW in Chaplinsky district.
Sweden’s Secretary of State for Environment and Climate, Ms. Eva Swedling, commented on the situation with regard to the provisions and implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement, which Ukraine also ratified and committed to fulfill. She shared Sweden’s experience in reducing emissions from industrial enterprises through transition to alternative technologies.
Another significant event that took place within the framework of the International Investment Forum was the solemn ceremony of the opening of first stage of Windfarm “Novotroitska” Windcraft Ukraine Ltd. (1 queue capacity 15 MW, estimated investment amount is 50 million euros). The total capacity of the project will be 69.3 MW and will be implemented by the end of 2018. In the construction of the wind farm, the world’s latest developments in the field of generating “green” electricity were used. Windscreen winding installation installed by Windcraft Ukraine is the latest and most up-to-date not only in Ukraine, but also in the world. The company plans to build a new wind power plant with a total capacity of 96 MW. Also, the preparatory work on the construction of WPS Kalanchak and WPS Chaplinka with a total capacity of 600 MW.
